HNC Care & Administrative Practice is for those who want a career in health and social services. It will help you develop knowledge and skills as a Health Care Support Worker in acute clinical and community settings.
If you want to go further and study Adult Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, or Learning Disability Nursing, this qualification will enable you to apply to university.
Preference will be given to those already working in a health and social care setting, who want to further their career through study and practice.
Units include: Essential Skills for Care Practice, Sociology for Care Practice, Therapeutic Relationships - Understanding Behaviour, Safe Working Practice for Care, Understanding Personal and Professional Development.
2 Highers at B including English, National 5 Maths preferred, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Foundation Apprenticeship Social Services and Healthcare can be counted as a non-essential Higher. Interview and pre-entry test.
