Construction technicians are responsible for the design and implementation of a wide range of construction projects, from consultation and advisory roles, to contractor-based work, in sectors such as: industrial, commercial and domestic structures; energy; infrastructure; and landmark projects, such as Inverness College UHI Campus.

The HNC Built Environment will specifically develop your knowledge and skills in areas such as: building measurement; cost studies; environmental building science; building services; construction materials; sketching and drawings; sustainability; and off-site construction.

Entry Requirements

1 Higher plus National 5 Maths; or Foundation Apprenticeship Civil Engineering; or NC Built Environment; or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6

Progression Routes

Progression to year 2 of the BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology or the BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering.
