This course will provide an ideal introduction into designing and making a range of prototypes for the marketplace. Whilst the course is very practical, you’ll also be introduced to the idea of selling these items in the real and digital marketplace.
You will learn:
colour theory and how it relates to all aspects of design; to use Kaledo software to create CAD designs for print; how to develop and make a range of fabric based products, including headwear; practical fabric skills including surface decoration and textile embellishments techniques; jewellery making skills; about visual merchandising and how to create effective displays to attract customers and increase sales; how to take photographs of the items you produce; how to use social media to market yourself and your work.
4 subjects at National 4, preferably including Art and Design. Interview.
