This course is designed to engage and motivate candidates who are interested in learning about the automotive retail industry. It is aimed at learners who prefer and respond to 'hands-on' learning. Therefore, it has a practical approach to assessment and includes many visual questioning techniques which will stimulate and interest learners.
During the course candidates will undertake the following units:
Health and Safety in the Workplace; Locating, Interpreting and Using Technical Information; Applying Engineering Techniques in an Automotive Environment; Knowledge Relating to Automotive Foundation Skills; Preparation to Become a Vehicle Driver; Reducing Risks When Driving Vehicles; Health and Safety Practices in a Maintenance and Repair Environment; Tools, Equipment and Consumable Materials for Vehicle Maintenance; Routine Vehicle Maintenance Processes and Procedures; Light Vehicle Braking System Components and Maintenance; Light Vehicle Wheel and Tyre Construction and Maintenance; Light Vehicle Exhaust System Components and Maintenance; Lighting System Maintenance.
National 4 Maths, English and science subject + Introduction to Motor Vehicle Industry and Technologies (IMI) preferred
NVQ/SVQ Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. Modern Apprenticeship in the Motor Vehicle Industry. Possible Progression to level 2.
