This course will provide an introduction to engineering with the intention of ensuring smooth entry on to a full time National Certificate course in August 2021. We are interest in applicants who intent to gain an engineering apprenticeship within the Energy, Renewables, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Maintenance industries.
Possible units may include:
Mechanical and Fabrication Skills; Engineering Workshop Skills; Electrical/Electronics Engineering Skills; Engineering Maintenance Skills; Engineering Drawing; CAD for Engineers; Engineering Materials; Mathematics.
3 subjects at National 4 or 5 preferably including Maths or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4 or 5. Entry subject to interview.
After successfully completing this course you'll have the skills required to apply for Modern Apprenticeships which exist within the following engineering sectors: aerospace; manufacturing; marine; renewable energies, engineering maintenance, engineering design and process engineering.
Or you could develop your skills further by studying another course, such as NC Manufacturing Engineering at SCQF Level 5 or NC Engineering Systems at SCQF Level 5.
