NQ Sport Activities and Exercise (Level 4/5) is designed to re-introduce you to a more active/healthier lifestyle, re-introduce you to Education within the Sport and Exercise field, prepares you to work in the Leisure Industry at a basic level and/or provides the knowledge required to progress to NC Exercise, Fitness and Coach Ed Level 6 (starting in January).

Throughout this course programme the main aim is to promote a knowledge and understanding of a more active and healthier lifestyle and gain practical skills and experience in a variety of sports and exercise activities.

You'll learn about a variety of theoretical and practical Sport and Exercise subjects from the following: Indoor sports: Basketball, Volleyball, Short Tennis, Table Tennis, Football and Badminton; Outdoor activities: Hill Walking, Alpine Skiing and Mountain Biking; Introduction to Coaching; Exercise Activities Resistance/Free Weight Training, Circuit Training, Spin Classes, Boxing Fitness and Kettle Bell Training Introduction to Fitness; Personal Wellbeing and Exercise; Mental Health Awareness; Employability Skills; First Aid.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 4 preferably including English or NQ Sport and Fitness Activities or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4. Entry subject to interview.

Progression Routes

NC Sport and Fitness: Level 5; Access to HN: Sport and Fitness: Level 6
