Biomedical scientists provide medical and nursing staff with the laboratory results that are vital in the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of disease.
UWS works in partnership with staff from NHS laboratories and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) to equip you with the theory and practical skills necessary to become a biomedical scientist.
Each year the best Biomedical Science student is awarded the IBMS President’s Prize of £100 and award certificate. Students have also been granted prizes by the British Society of Immunology and the Microbiology Society.
The professionally accredited and approved status of the University's programmes enables graduates to stand out in short-listing for positions in the sector. UWS graduates leave with the theoretical and practical skills needed for a successful career.
