This course aims to develop your ability to apply analysis and synthesis skills to the solution of fabrication, welding and inspection problems and provides a range of communication skills relevant to the needs of incorporated engineers.

You will develop knowledge, understanding and skills in a range of core fabrication, welding, quality, materials and inspection systems principles and technologies at Higher National level and to achieve a degree of specialisation within fabrication or welding engineering.

Entry Requirements

Higher Maths or Physics, or Foundation Apprenticeship Engineering, or NC Fabrication and Welding (Level 6). You may be required to attend an interview.

Progression Routes

Successful completion of the HNC allows you to meet the educational requirements to work as a technician or supervisor in the fabrication and welding industry.
