Content

This course will provide a range of theoretical and practical skills required to become an events organiser. Successful completion of the course will allow graduates to leave with a broad experience in organising as well as supporting events of all sizes.

Units may include:

Behavioural skills for business; Communication: business communication; Event budgeting and funding; Event legislation: safety and licensing; Events industry: an introduction; Events: graded unit; Human resource management: an introduction; Information technology applications software 1; Marketing: an introduction; Organising an event; Personal development planning; Research skills; Work experience.

Entry Requirements

1 Higher plus 2 subjects at National 4 including English; or Foundation Apprenticeship Business Skills; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6.

Progression Routes

Further study may include entry to year 2 of BA Hons Event Management or BA Hons Hospitality Management.
