This course will provide a range of theoretical and practical skills required to become an events organiser. Successful completion of the course will allow graduates to leave with a broad experience in organising as well as supporting events of all sizes.
Content:
Organising an event; Events industry: an introduction; Event legislation: safety and licensing; Event budgeting and funding; Information technology applications software 1; Communication: business communication; Marketing: an introduction; Events: graded unit 1.
Optional subjects may include:
Work experience; Research skills; Behavioural skills for business; Personal development planning; Human resource management: an introduction; Food and beverage events; Management of human resources in hospitality; Public relations: principles and practice; Creating a culture of customer care.
1 Higher plus 2 subjects at National 5 including English, or Foundation Apprenticeship Business Skills, or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6.
Further study may include entry to year 2 of BA Tourism and Hospitality.
