This course will provide you with the professional skills and creativity required to produce highly engaging animations and special effects for film and computer games.

Working with a variety of digital computer technologies such as virtual reality, motion capture, action tracking, and particle systems, you will create a range of 2D and 3D computer animations. You will learn how to apply essential film and computer generated special effects to produce audio visual sequences for use in the film, games, and internet industries.

You will study: 2D/3D computer animation; Film studies for animators; Narrative in fiction and film and computer games; Character design; Compositing and motion graphics; Creative industries; Digital audio and video for artists and designers; Special effects.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers including Art and Design plus 3 subjects at National 5; or NC Computer Games: Creative Development (and Animation); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview and portfolio
