Content

This online postgraduate CPD award in Sustainable Deer Management is aimed at those working in the land management sector (e.g. estate management, forestry, agriculture, ecological consultancy) and in conservation organisations. It covers both practical and policy aspects of deer management and is also useful for those working in government agencies with remits covering land use and environmental issues.

The module reflects the growing demand for ‘sustainable’ deer management in Scotland, uniting both the sporting elements and environmental or conservation-based approaches.

For those already practising deer management, the module offers valuable academic recognition that can enhance employment opportunities. It provides an in-depth understanding of the role of stakeholders in deer management and the importance of collaborative working. The learning outcomes can be put into practice by professionals working in practical deer management or conservation and by those working in policy development.
