Engineering Practice with PDA in Manufacture

Glasgow Clyde College

Anniesland Campus

HNC Engineering Practice with PDA in Manufacturing is designed to provide an insight in to trade specific skills. You will study core units in computer numerical control, mechanical engineering principles, engineering measurement and computer aided draughting for engineers. You will also be required to do two optional units. These will most likely be pneumatics and material selection. In tandem with the units required for the HNC we will teach you the principles of quality management, value engineering and production planning and control. This will be assessed with the graded unit at the end of the year.

During this HNC Engineering Practice with PDA in Maintenance course, you will learn about industrial plant maintenance, standard techniques used and the typical health and safety regulations involved. Futher to this you will learn about the operational requirements of compressed air generating systems, the operation of factory air distribution systems and be able to describe plant equipment used in hydraulic systems.

Engineering measurement will give you the skills to inspect your components accurately and mechanical engineering principles will introduce you to aspects of dynamics and materials.
