With advances in technology and continual development in engineering practices, this course will help you achieve the qualifications required to apply for jobs within the sector.

Almost all engineering jobs contain an element of multi-skilling. Engineering Systems covers the fundamental principles of both electrical and mechanical engineering and will equip you with the knowledge and understanding required for further study, applying for apprenticeships or complement your existing skills base.

Core units:
Communication core skill unit; Mathematics: Technician 1; Engineering: Applying Information Technology.

Mandatory units:
Engineering materials; Graphical engineering communications; Electrical principles; Single and 3-phase principles; Engineering systems.

Optional units:
Engineering; CAD for engineers; Pneumatics and hydraulics; Programmable logic controllers; Engineering Dynamics: An Introduction.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 5 including Maths and a science or technological subject. Interview.
