Hospitality is a thriving and growing industry with job opportunities continuing to increase. This unique HNC is designed to develop and support your communication skills as well as teach you practical front of house and supervisory skills to ensure you are on your way to a fulfilling career within the industry. Edinburgh College has exceptional facilities and you will gain essential experience in our restaurants and kitchens.

You will participate in a programme of visits to hotels and other businesses operating within tourism and hospitality. These visits will give you further insight into the industry and allow you to better understand how they operate. Edinburgh College works closely with many industry partners to provide guest speaker sessions and opportunities for you to meet and talk to employers; gaining essential industry connections. As part of this course, we include a work experience unit which will give you first-hand experience in different job roles within an organisation and ensure you choose the career path that is the right fit for you.

This course includes:
Management of Food and Beverage Services; Food Production Processes; Accommodation Management; Hospitality Supervision; Financial and Control Systems; Work Experience; Hospitality Industry; Hospitality Front Office Procedures.

Entry Requirements

Higher English or another English based subject plus 3 subjects at National 5 including English and Maths; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5 or 6. Interview.
