This is an entry level certificate designed to teach you the skills needed for a career in the trowel trade or a related occupation. During this course you will gain key employability skills that are essential when entering the construction industry. You will study units such as Brickwork and Health and Safety which will enhance your knowledge of the industry.

This course is taught between Edinburgh College classrooms and our workshops where you will gain essential, hands-on and real-life experience of the construction trade.

Course includes:
Health and safety in the construction industry; Technical drawing/computer aided design (CAD); Information technology; Brickwork; Decorative painting and finishes; Roof slating and tiling; Concrete finishing. The Core Skills of ICT, numeracy and communication will be developed and certificated on this course.

Entry Requirements

2 subjects at National 4 including Maths.
