This course is intended to prepare you for employment in a technical or scientific capacity in the food and drink industry.
You will develop a broad overview and understanding of the way the food and drink industry operates, the processes it uses and the products that it makes while developing practical laboratory skills required in the modern food and drink industry.
The units include: Food Industry Principles, Food Industry Practices, Food Manufacturing, Microbiology of Foods, Food Composition, Food Hygiene, Food Analysis, Science for the Food Industry, Legislation, Fundamental of Quality and Business Management.
1 Higher, preferably Chemistry or Biology plus 3 subjects at National 5, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6.
