This course is suitable for students who want to learn more about farming, including working with farm animals. The Estate part of the course is valuable for students who want work with gardens, fruit, vegetables and bulbs. The course will help students gain an understanding of the countryside and the people who work there. It’s a practical course which also has some basic academic units to help students deepen their knowledge. The Essential Skills units help students with numbers, language and other core skills needed for the modern worker.

Areas of study include:
Horticultural Machinery; Landscaping Preparation & Aftercare; Commercial Fruit & Vegetable Production; Livestock.

Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirements. A demonstration of enthusiasm for working in agriculture.
