This course offers continuing professional development for childcare practitioners. This course is made up of individual SCQF Level 7 and Level 8 units. It is aimed at developing knowledge and skills at this level and is suitable for practitioners who are currently working with children and young people in a childcare setting. This course is also a route to increasing SCQF credit points at this level whilst working towards courses at higher levels. The course is flexible and you can generally take one, two or three of the units in an academic year.

This course is an online course with minimal college attendance required. Expected online activity is approx 2 hours per week.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers including English; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6; or significant experience working with children.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
