This course offers continuing professional development for those already working with children and young adults in a childcare setting. A career in childhood practice is more than just a job. With plenty of opportunities for progression each day can be different, full of variety and full of adventures.

This is a flexible course offering several bespoke modules that you can choose from. Each module takes around 10 weeks to complete and you can generally take one, two or three of the units in an academic year. There will be a variety of teaching and learning methods including group work, class discussions, keeping a journal and reflecting on aspects of your work.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers including English; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6; or significant experience working with children.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
