This course develops your understanding across the three areas of biology, chemistry and physics. It will also develop your practical skills, so expect plenty of ‘hands on’ experience in the lab.
Biology – human body, including all the major systems - such as respiratory, digestive, cardiovascular, reproductive and musculo-skeletal.
Chemistry – chemical reactions, structure and bonding, pH scale, structure of atoms and the Periodic Table.
Physics – Waves and Optics, including energy waves such as sound, water, light, micro and radio waves; reflection and its applications such as satellite communication and fibre optics; refraction and use of various types of lenses. Radioactivity, including ionising radiations and uses such as radiotherapy; radioactive decay and contamination; and nuclear power.
Attendance is 6 hours per week.
No formal entry requirements. Interview.
