Content

This is mainly a theoretical course with a small practical element to prepare you for further study or employment.

You will: learn about engineering dynamics; develop skills in pneumatics and hydraulic circuits; be introduced to engineering thermofluids; develop skills in complex engineering assemblies; learn about statics and the effects of force on a body, component and structure; develop skills in basic engineering design; develop skills in Computer Aided Draughting (CAD); learn to use basic maths and apply IT in an engineering context.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5 preferably including Maths or Physics, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Entry subject to interview.

Progression Routes

Progression on to a relevant HNC or Modern Apprenticeship.
