This course gives you a great introduction to working horticulture. It’s mainly practical, with just a small amount of theory. Most of the time you’ll be based at our facilities at the Dean Estate. You’ll be outside in all weather, so pack your boots (and your lunch!) and experience the good, healthy feeling you get from hand-on gardening activities.
Gardening skills; gardening techniques (maintenance using hand tools, plant propagation); environmental areas and tree, plant and wildlife identification skills; and soft landscaping such as planting, weeding and pruning.
3 subjects at National 3 or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 3. Entry subject to interview.
NQ Garden and Landscaping or employment/apprenticeship.
