If you have a strong interest supporting local people to improve their communities, then this is the course for you. This entry-level course is designed to support you to develop an understanding of the theories which support change in communities.

You might be involved in paid or voluntary community work and would like to gain a nationally recognised advanced qualification: to support better understanding of the role of community learning and development in different settings, to improve your work or to support you in opportunities for promotion or finding work with other agencies.

Entry Requirements

While no formal qualifications are needed for this course, you’ll need to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills (because the work is very much about working with people and groups).

You’ll also have a passion for supporting people and promoting social inclusion.
To be successful in this course you’ll need to have an interest in how communities and groups within them work and you’ll need to want to support them to change - in ways which suit them and in ways which include everyone regardless of their background and characteristics.
