This unique short course is the first of its kind in the world and is developed in collaboration with Common Data Access Ltd (CDA) a subsidiary of Oil & Gas UK. If you have no prior experience, the course provides a flexible access route into Petroleum Data Management and is also suitable if you are already working in the industry.
You will explore data types, including seismic and other remote sensing surveys; drilling and well data including MWD/LWD; wireline; well tests; core and samples and how they are used in decision-making. You will then situate these data types in their life cycles, from planning, though collection, management, use and archiving and preservation.
You will step back to examine how data management services are designed and provided and explore how the management of these valuable business assets is governed.
You do not require any formal academic qualifications but will require appropriate work experience.
