Old Aberdeen Campus
Institutions and organizations are today commonly demanding evidence-based policy formation. As a result, the necessary social research methods for Monitoring and Evaluation (M and E) are in high demand. The MSc in Policy Evaluation will equip graduates to provide programme monitoring and evaluation for government and third sector organisations by providing advanced skills in research design, qualitative and quantitative methods and data analysis. For the thesis component, instead of completing a traditional dissertation, students will have the option to work with a partner organization to produce a real M and E project with local government, a non-profit organisation, or within the University itself.
Applicants will normally be expected to hold a relevant Honours degree with at least 2.1 or above from a recognised university of body. In exceptional circumstances, applicants without this qualification may be admitted subject to having an alternative qualification, or an approved level of work experience, appropriate to the field of study.
