Onsite Seated Shiatsu

This course develops a range of techniques and skills required to administer appropriate Shiatsu treatments to those in a seated position.

It is offered in conjunction with the Glasgow School of Shiatsu.

You will learn to give tailor-made, appropriate treatments to each individual client. The course is delivered using on-site chairs, and also ordinary seats and stools, so that you can give an effective treatment anywhere.

This course is aimed at Complementary Therapists and those with an interest in Shiatsu who wish to offer seated treatments in workplace or leisure settings.

Content includes: Shiatsu Theory: postural and facial diagnosis, touch diagnosis; Practical Technique: arm, neck and shoulder meridians and stretches, Acupoints; Professional development: contraindications, Health and Safety, Ethics; Relevant anatomy and physiology.

On successful completion of all coursework and practical assessment a Certificate in Onsite Shiatsu will be awarded.

Entry Requirements

Participants are recommended to have a qualification in anatomy and physiology although this is not mandatory.

Some experience of therapies is preferable.
