This Outdoor Adventure Sports version of the National Certificate in Sport and Fitness is a fantastic course for anyone who’s keen on adventure sports and outdoor activities. The outdoor units include Summer and Winter Hillwalking, (both with a map reading element), Adventure Sports (canyoning, gorge walking and coasteering), Rock Climbing, Paddle Sports and Dingy Sailing. There are units in Contemporary Fitness and Exercise, Sports Injuries, Nutrition, Health and Wellbeing and Anatomy, Physiology and Physical Activities

Entry Requirements

3 relevant subjects at National 4; or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4; ability to demonstrate involvement in outdoor activities. Interview.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.

Progression Routes

This may allow progression onto level 6 Sports courses, HNC/D Fitness Health and Exercise, and other further and higher levels of study such as the Outdoor Adventure Performance degree offered through UHI.
