Are you interested in working with people who require specialist help and care?

Would you like to work in professional organisations using scientific knowledge?

Are you numerate? Do you have a passion for scientific understanding and a logical thought process?

If so, this focused course is for adults returning to education who wish to study the subjects of Mathematics and Physics along with some human anatomy in the hope of progression to degrees in Radiography and Diagnostic Imaging, Medical Physics, Optometry or Ophthalmic Dispensing.

You will be taught a mixture of discrete science subjects (Chemistry and Physics) along with core essential skills in Mathematics, ICT and Communications.

Entry Requirements

You should have a minimum of 3 clear years out of formal education and a history of good mathematics qualifications from school but for whatever reason you did not continue in your studies.

You will be interviewed and your numeracy skills will be tested during the interview period. You will also have to supply two (2) references that show your ability to learn and be successful.

Progression into any study within the NHS is subject to PVG Disclosure Scotland Criminal Records checking.

Progression Routes

Successful students can progress onto first year university, HNC /HND Level courses or to a range of Further Education or Higher Education courses.
