HNC Childhood Practice is designed for young people beginning their career, adults who are looking to get back into education or those who are progressing from our NC Early Education and Childcare course. During this course you will be taught by highly qualified and experienced lecturers and have individual support from Edinburgh College allowing you to progress professionally and academically.

This course will teach leadership skills, child development and health and safety. From this course you can apply for registration as a Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) professional and go into employment within nurseries, playgroups, after school clubs and other play schemes. A career in childhood practice is more than just a job. With plenty of opportunities for progression, each day can be different, full of variety and full of adventures. Entry Requirements

2 Highers including English, or Childhood Practice (Level 6), or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview. Relevant experience is preferable but not essential.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
