The aim of this course is to provide information, resources and activities so that the candidate can develop an understanding of basic counselling skills. The course will be part theory and part practice.
The course will cover the following areas:
Communication Skills; Concepts of Counselling; Aims of Counselling; Approaches to Counselling;
Non-directive Counselling; Basic Counselling Skills; Building Relationships
Completion of the course assessments leads to a SQA certificate
No formal entry requirements
You can progress onto the Counselling Skills course or other counselling courses which lead to a career in counselling or care work.
