Content

This revised and updated HND Course enables you to develop the skills, knowledge and experience required to advance your career in the childhood practice sector, and will provide you with the required number of credits necessary for transition to, and successful completion of, SCQF level 9 qualifications.

There are a wide range of topics covered and this will enable you to develop your professional practice, pedagogy and leadership skills. You will also develop a critical understanding of local, national and international policies and legal frameworks which impact on your practice. A key part of this award is to develop your ability as a reflective practitioner, strengthen your research and study skills and your knowledge of childhood practice in relation to current research.

Entry Requirements

HNC Childhood Practice, or SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 7.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
