Content

This course is ideal for those aspiring to advance their practice within the Childhood Practice sector. The award will give you the opportunity to consolidate and reflect on your own work experience to advance your learning beyond that of the practitioner role.

You will study a range of topics with a focus on Leadership, Collaborative Working and Professional Practice. In addition to this, two SVQ work-based units and a Graded Unit must be completed.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must hold a qualification as specified by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). In addition, applicants should be working in, or have access to, a placement in the Childhood Practice Sector. A minimum of 9 hours a week work experience is recommended. 240 points need to be gained to achieve the HND successfully. This may involve studying additional units online.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
