The NPA in Playwork & Childcare is an entry-level qualification and is ideal for anyone who is interested in working with children and young people in a playwork, early learning or childcare setting.
The programme gives the opportunity to gain entry to further early education and childcare courses for those who wish to gain access to employment in this sector.
Programme topics include:
Supporting Children with Additional Support Needs; Development and Wellbeing of Children and Young People; Children and Young People: Rights and Protection; Children and Young People: Practice of Play; Children and Young People: Process of Play; Working with Children and Young People; Communication, Numeracy and ICT.
5 subjects at National 4 including English; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4. Interview and advice session.
You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
Successful candidates may have the opportunity to apply to progress to further study at SCQF Level 6
