Content

The course is run in partnership between Care, Social Science and Sport departments which gives students a diverse range of projects in the community and theory underpinning Community Learning and Development. Community work builds confidence and community empowerment.

Practical experience in the community will be a key aspect of the course such as volunteering in the local community and event management.
Students are encouraged to learn independently with the course materials available on the college online learning as well as tutor lead.

Entry Requirements

5 relevant subjects at National 5 including English, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Entry is subject to an interview.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.

Progression Routes

HNC Working with Communities, or other relevant HNC course, or employment in a range of community based settings.
