This is an excellent course that allows routes into a range of science degree courses and employment in the science industry. Students with HNC: Applied Sciences can articulate to year 2 of this course. It provides a thorough understanding of the principles of science combined with practical laboratory work and a laboratory-based project which are essential for graduates entering employment. You will study mandatory units and two science areas; chemistry and biology.
You will study: Transition metal chemistry; Thermodynamics and kinetics; Chemistry laboratory skills; Spectroscopic and analytical techniques; DNA and genetics; Microbiology; Human body structure and function.
HNC Applied Sciences. Interview.
Successful completion may allow progression on to years 2 or 3 of various science degrees at universities. Fife College has defined articulation routes in place for this course.
