Content

This course is designed for those who wish to pursue a career within the creative development side of computer games design and animation. It is a launch pad for progression on to our advanced level HND: 3D Computer Animation course or a suitable degree at university. You will learn the fundamentals of 2D and 3D computer modelling and animation, and create graphics and sound for incorporation into computer games and animations.

You will study: Games design; Asset development; Games testing; 3D modelling and animation skills; Sound design for games and animation; 2D animation skills; Narrative development; Storyboarding; Character design; Interface design.


The Core Skills of ICT, Numeracy, Communication, Problem Solving and Working with others will be developed and certificated on this course.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 5; or NC Computing with Digital Media; or NC Computer Games Development; or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Interview and portfolio.
