The aim of this course is to enable people working in a care environment to improve their working practice by developing their skills, knowledge and understanding of their role in the workplace. This course will allow staff to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

You will undertake this qualification in your own workplace. The course is designed by the care industry for people working in a care environment. It is currently being offered to candidates working in hospitals, nursing homes, the community, residential homes and any other appropriate care setting such as support workers.

Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirements. You would need to be in relevant employment. Interview.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.

Progression Routes

Progression and job opportunities include registration with the Scottish Social Services Council at appropriate level. Candidates will be qualified to carry out jobs at the appropriate level.
