During the course you will be encouraged to think ahead to what you want to do in the future. You will study a range of subjects. Some of these will be similar to what you’ve studied before and some will be new to you. A large part of your coursework will focus on helping you to identify links between different subjects. Using this approach, you will be able to examine topics in more depth whilst also cutting own the number of assessments that you need to do.
You will be assessed throughout the course and there are no external exams. We will help you to develop essay and report writing skills, and using these skills you will be able to create a portfolios of your work for assessment purposes. Learning will take place in a range of ways: classroom activities; online learning; research and projects.
You can study a variety of subjects from the following:
Scottish Studies; Maths; Criminology; Introduction to Mental Health; Communication and Literature; Introduction to Counselling; Sociology in a care context; Human Development (Psychology in care context); Personal Development; Study Skills.
4 relevant subjects at National 4; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4. Entry subject to interview.
Level 6 Social Care or relevant Childcare or Health and Social Care courses.
