This course will introduce you to a range of hairdressing techniques and skills needed for a career in the industry. You’ll develop practical skills, and gain essential knowledge and valuable salon experience. The course covers cut hair using basic techniques, shampooing, conditioning and treating hair and scalp, dry, style and finish hair, set, style and dress hair, colour and lighten hair, cut and clipper hair. Work placement will also be a part of the course.

Entry Requirements

2 subjects at National 4; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4. You also need excellent communication skills. You must be 16 years old at the start of the course. Entry is based on successful interview and skills test.
