This course is for those wanting to develop a career in the hospitality industry and to gain professional cookery experience and qualifications. It suits school leavers or those looking for a change in career. It runs for 12 weeks. We anticipate students moving into work at one of the busiest times of the year for the industry. Our employer engagement team supports students into relevant work.
The course covers:
Introduction to the catering and hospitality industry; Preparing and cooking a variety of foods; Study of healthy eating; Menu project; IT, numeracy, problem solving and communication.
You will have the chance to work in our award-winning Terrace Restaurant. Some evening work is required.
2 subjects at National 4 or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4. Interview and theory test.
NC Professional Cookery (Level 5 or 6).
