Coatbridge Campus
The BA Childhood Practice is delivered at the Coatbridge Campus in partnership with the University of the West of Scotland. The qualification is designed to ensure that managers in early years’ settings are qualified to Degree level and eligible to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
The course has been designed to meet the Standard for Childhood Practice through study of learning within childhood, leadership and management, reflective practice and research.
You should hold a qualification at Practitioner level, such as the HNC Early Learning and Child Care. In addition you should have the PDA Childhood Practice level 8 or equivalent. If there is a credit shortfall when calculating your relevant academic qualifications you will have to complete an APEL (accreditation for prior learning) through UWS to reach the required credit level. This can be done prior to starting the course.
