This course gives you a good introduction to the foundation and fascinating world of social sciences and builds on your existing knowledge of contemporary issues.

You will: explore the nature of crime through a famous case; look at social psychology and discover how people’s social environment and interaction with others shapes their thoughts, feelings and behaviour; explore sociology and how it can help in understanding the world we live in; examine current issues around equality and diversity; study the distribution of power in the political system; study events in history; learn about population distribution, growth and change in the developed and developing world.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 4 or a relevant NC at SCQF Level 4. A place on the course is subject to an interview process.

Progression Routes

Progression on to a relevant course at SCQF Level 6, such as NC Social Sciences (Higher) or employment.
