If you’re looking for a route into nursing, this could be the course for you. It provides a recognised entry qualification for study progression to the allied health professions, including Adult, Mental Health, Child and Learning Disability nursing.
This course is highly valued by both universities and employers. It offers underpinning knowledge and practical skills which support safe and effective care, preparing you for further study or employment.
You’ll spend 2 days in college and 2 days on a clinical placement rotation for work base and learning experience. Placements could include an NHS hospital, local authority care home or private nursing home.
2 Highers including English and preferably Maths at National 5, or relevant NC course at SCQF Level 6 such as NC Higher Health and Social Care. A place on the course is subject to an interview process.
You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
Degree level study in the possibly in the following programmes: Adult Nursing; Mental Health Nursing; Learning Disability Nursing; Midwifery (dependent on appropriate qualifications); Integrated Health and Social Care.
