This course will equip you with an understanding of the skills, methods and approaches used within the CLD profession. You’ll learn how to work effectively with individuals and groups to help make a positive difference to their lives and their communities.
The course will involve critical reflection of a variety of issues such as social justice, inequality, poverty and social exclusion. You will also explore values and principles and processes which underpin society and social policy.
You’ll spend 2 days at college, plus 1 day each week in a relevant placement setting (mandatory) which focuses on community based youth work, adult learning or Community Development.
2 relevant Highers including English and preferably National 5 Maths, or a relevant NC course such as NC Higher Health and Social Care, or a relevant qualification at SCQF Level 6. A place on the course is subject to an interview process. A satisfactory reference.
