This programme aims to develop both your interest and knowledge of the business events industry, and encourage reflective and dynamic understanding. You will study modules that specifically focus on elements of business events management, such as business skills for event managers and sustainable conference management alongside more generic but related management modules - such as tourism marketing and experience design. The research methods and dissertation module harness and develop your research capacity.

In the second semester you undertake a three-week placement at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC). During the placement you will spend time in all seven operational areas of the centre and work alongside departmental managers.

Modules include:
Business Skills for Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management; Destination Marketing;
Experience Design and Management for Tourism, Hospitality and Events; International Business Event Management; Professional Practice; Research Methods; Sustainable Conferences and Events; Dissertation.

Entry Requirements

A 2:2 Honours degree or above in any discipline.
