The course is designed for those interested in pursuing a career in the electrical engineering industry. You will learn many valuable skills needed to work in the electrical engineering field including knowledge in Electrical Theory and Three Phase Systems.

Electricity Power Systems; Electrical Safety; Electrical Machine Principles; DC and AC Principles; Three-Phase Systems; Digital Electronics; Electrical Networks and Resonance; Power Electronics; Application of Electrical and Electronic Devices; Electrical Engineering: Graded Unit 1; Communication: Practical Skills; Information Technology: Applications Software 1; Engineering Mathematics 1; Engineering Mathematics 2.

Entry Requirements

Higher Maths and Physics or another science based subject; or NC Electrical Engineering (Higher); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. You will be required to attend interview and complete a maths test.

Progression Routes

HND Electrical Engineering or Degree-level studies in electrical engineering such as Year 2 BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Heriot-Watt University
