This course focuses on skills and qualifications required to gain employment in the care sector. It is delivered in partnership with Dundee City Council, NHS Tayside and independent care sector. Includes various recognised care certificates for employment, units in Health and Social Care and SVQ Social Services and Healthcare Level 2, which is assessed whilst on placement with a partner organisation.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 4 or 2 at National 5, or Certificate in Child, Health and Social Care (Level 5) or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5, or relevant experience. Entry subject to interview.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.

Progression Routes

Completion of the course may lead to learners gaining guaranteed interviews with NHS Tayside, Dundee City Council Social Work Department and Hillcrest Futures for the relevant level posts.
