This course looks to develop technical, tactical, physiological and psychological elements of performance within each learner.

An NPA in Achieving Excellence in Sport (SCQF Level 6) is a large part of the course.

Learners will develop their own individual performance through practical and academic sessions, enhancing and complementing existing training schedules. Learners will study SQA and college based units in Sports Performance, Performance Analysis, Rules/Laws of Sport, Human Anatomy, Sports Injuries, Strength & Conditioning and Coaching. Learners will study and develop in other important performance areas such as Nutrition, Hydration, Sleep and Social Media Awareness whilst also developing essential skills

Entry Requirements

Relevant subjects at National 5. You should be competing at club, regional, national or international level, be committed to improvement and be able to support your application with a letter of recommendation from school, club and/or National Governing Body. Interview.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.

Progression Routes

Successful completion may lead to entry to another sport and fitness course or employment within the sports industry.
