This course will introduce you to the business side of retail fashion. You'll explore aspects of branding, marketing, retail buying, merchandising and display. This course is not design-orientated but helps develop an understanding of the creative processes of retail fashion and how they're managed.
You'll have the chance to create, design and implement your own fashion event, or show, to gain the relevant experience and skills. The course is delivered by experienced staff in retail and fashion who will develop your understanding and knowledge of the retail fashion industry.
Units include:-
Introduction to Fashion; Fashion Merchandising; Introduction to Display; Retailing: Working in Retail; Buying; Marketing Mix; Branding: An Intro; Art and Design: Software Skills; Art and Design: Printmaking Applied Skills; Fashion Event Production; Consumer Studies.
3 subjects at National 5 including English. Entry subject to interview.
On successful completion of this course with all credits, you can progress onto HNC/D Awards in Retail Management, Marketing Communications or other SQA Awards.
