This Electrical Engineering course will equip you with a thorough understanding of the knowledge surrounding electrical engineering technologies. You'll gain an understanding of how electrical circuits work, the variety of components and systems that you may encounter in the Electrical Industry, together with the tools to work in the sector.

This is a nationally recognised award in electrical engineering. This course satisfies one key element of the Modern Apprenticeship framework for Engineering. It provides you with an excellent and thorough grounding in the disciplines that relate to electrical engineering.

Some of the subjects you’ll study include: Communications; Mathematics for Technicians; I.T. Applications; Electrical Principles; Fundamental Electrical Systems; Electrical Testing and Measurement; Single and Three Phase Induction Motors; Applications of Programmable Logic Controllers.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5 including Maths and a science subject; or NQ Electrical Engineering with Electronics (Level 5); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Personal interview.
