This course is primarily aimed at those who want to explore different social care environments. Opportunities within the course will enable students to develop essential knowledge, understanding and transferable skills in the fields of child, health and social care.
The course offers an introduction to the different care provision within the sector, acting as excellent preparation for progression towards further study or employment.
This course will explore a range of important topics including sociology and human development, values and principles in care, families in modern society and mental health issues. It also develops Core Skills in IT, Communication and Numeracy.
The course covers the NC Child, Health and Social Care at Level 5 as well as a National 5 Care qualification.
2 subjects at National 5 including English plus 4 subjects at National 4; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4.
Other qualifications and experience may be considered but the ability to work at SCQF Level 5 is essential. A genuine aptitude for working with people and good communication skills are essential.
