The primary focus of this course is to provide candidates with a range of practical engineering skills and theoretical knowledge relevant to the National Certificates in Manufacturing & Mechanical Maintenance Engineering. As such, this award is suitable for those who wish to become a skilled crafts persons/trades person.

The course is both workshop and classroom based, and is at Intermediate 2 level – equivalent to SCQF Level 5. Students successfully completing all of the units over the two year programme would attain two National Certificates.

Entry Requirements

English, Maths and a technological subject at National 4; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4

Progression Routes

This course can be utilised within a Modern Apprentice training plan and may give successful candidates the opportunity to gain employment in the manufacture/maintenance sector.
